Rules for the Striking Competition 2026

Hanbury 13 June 2026 – 2:00pm

Only paid up members of the Western Branch may take part.

The competition will be in two parts: Test piece and fall and rise.

Each team may ring 5 minutes of called changes or 120 changes in any method which may include Plain Hunt.

Each team will have up to 5 minutes practice before the test piece.

Before commencing the test piece, 2 whole pulls on the treble will signify the team is ready to start.

Marking will commence immediately and finish when the last bell has set.

If the team is to attempt the fall and rise then 2 whole pulls on the tenor will be the signal to the Judges.

Marks will be lost for the non-setting of bells.

At the end of the fall, bells may finish in either Rounds or
Queens. Bells chiming after this will be penalised.
